Options for intraocular lens (IOL) implantation in the absence of capsular support include anterior chamber IOLs, iris-fixated IOLs, and scleral-fixated IOLs. Choice of IOL and implantation technique depends greatly on patient age, comorbid ocular conditions, the patient’s ocular anatomy, and surgeon comfort level with a specific technique. Scleral fixation is an alternate way of fixing the IOL in the posterior chamber. It is indicated in case of Weak Zonules, Posterior capsular tear and improper capsular bag support.
